3. THE QUALITY OF SALVATION IN THE OLD TESTAMENT ( In the context of deliverance from sin)
In the old testament blood of lambs and goat are used for remission of sins. The animal to be used is usually one years old which means that the life of that animal can cover the sins of the people for the years of the age of the animal.
Which means their sins are forgiven for a year that is why they have to repeat the same sacrifice another year.
And then their sins are not taking away but it's just covered, so God won't see it
It's like writing someones name on the wall and the person said he doesn't like it.
Instead of cleaning, you use another paper to cover it at least it's not showing
But it doesn't mean it's not there
Hebrews 9:6-7 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
Hebrews 10:1-4 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
4. THE QUALITY OF THE SAVING GRACE OF CHRIST JESUS
When we started in the previous teaching, we said a savior is a deliverer who saved a people and end up to be their protector.
Meaning Jesus gave us salvation and still helps us to keep that salvation form getting away.
The parable of the prodigal son ( this young man collected all his inheritance from his father and wandered away, his going away does not made him to stop being his father's child but the father received him when he came back to his senses)
Now because he collected all that he has, did that make him lose his position in his father's house? No
Hebrews 5:7-9 Who (Jesus) in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews 9:11-15 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
How much more! If you're saying a believer can lose salvation you're saying, the work of salvation is not complete.
Jesus, who is the ancient of days how long will the sacrifice of him take away sin..
Now listen Jesus took away sin for life.
Which means that God cannot remember any sin. He does not count sin to anyone that is saved, because our sins have been forgiven
Hebrews 8:10-13 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 10:16-18 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Question 1
What of those that renounce christ?
Let's assume the person is a genuine believer two things would have caused it.
It's either the person just got saved and has not been schooled, if he lacks the knowledge about God and he begins to feel cheated.
If he renounce Christ, it's not from his heart actually.
His mouth is saying I'm not doing again but his heart is saying Jesus I'm a new convert who needs to be schooled I'm fed up and I think I can't continue.
Another person might be because of tribulations. The mouth denies Jesus but the heart is saying I can't stay I'm suffering. Because a believer who runs away from Christ because of tribulation is not aware that Jesus said it will come but the antidote is to be cheerful. But Jesus sees the heart better.
Now let's now assume the person who is a well known christain and we believe is a believer genuinely renounces Christ.
It means they are not saved from the start let's see this in SCRIPTURES
1 John 2:18-19 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
Those are the anti Christ
Question 2
what is the sin unto death?
The sin unto death is unbelief
The death John was saying is eternal death
Adam sinned the sin unto death
That's why God said in the day that ye eat of the fruit ye shall surely die
Question 3
What's now the consequences of backsliding if a person does not lose salvation
Question 4
Should people begin to sin because God has forgiven our sin
This will answer the two questions.
Gal 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
At salvation we accept the life of Christ and we give Christ our life as an exchange
So he is the keeper of our life
As a believer where is your life? With Jesus.
Now which life do you have now?
The life of christ.
You should not sin as a believer because the life you're using is not your own and if you use it anyhow you will pay for it
Although you'll still make heaven
1 Corinthians 3:10-16 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be SAVED; yet so as by fire.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Question 5
This is the first time I'm hearing this.
Why do we then ask for forgiveness of sin if we cannot sin? I mean since we no longer know sin, why do we keep asking for forgiveness?
The bible says any one born of God cannot sin.
What John meant when he said anyone who is born of God cannot sin, he's saying the spirit you now carry in you is not the spirit of sin.
But do we sometimes commit sin even as believers or not?
Yes we do
But we are not always happy. That's the work of the flesh
Paul said I do what I do not want to do.
Because of the infirmity of the flesh.
Now I intentionally do not want to talk about asking for forgiveness of sins
Because some people have been teaching it that you don't need to ask for forgiveness of sin.
It's correct In a way. if you ask for forgiveness or not Jesus Is not moved because he has forgiven all sins his blood is still on the mercy seat as a sacrifice
That's the intercession he makes for the saints
What Jesus require from you is repentance not to be crying and asking for forgiveness that he has done.
Hebrews says we have been forgiven once and for all and there is no more sacrifice foar sins again.
Can you do something wrong and cry for mercy
Yes
Because you didn't desire to do it, Or you even did it intentionally.
Although God has forgiven you.
But God is pained because of your level of knowledge of him you still did wrongly.
It will only make him not to trust us with some things again
But he has forgiven us. When you cry for mercy he will pardon you and maybe give you another chance.
The gospel of eternal security frowns at sin. Infact self acclaimed believers that sin because Christ has forgiven them is on their way to hell. Because they are not saved. If a man truly carries God's spirit. That life hates sin and won't meddle with thesame.
If we could lose our eternal salvation, it wouldn't be eternal.

ReplyDeleteQuestion sir,
ReplyDelete1. What will be the portion of infants (1day-2yr old) that died (hell or "heaven")?
2. Now that it's shown that one cannot lose salvation, does it mean that sinners would pertake in reigning with Christ? if yes, what would sin do to them?
Alright
Delete1. It will do us more good to stay sane with scriptures. Staying low where it is low and staying high where it is high. The bible never spoke of the fate of an infant that died. But it will be wickedness to say children will go to hell because they died early. Jesus said let the children come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Contextually Jesus might be reffering to character, but the Bible didn't speak about the fate of children whether they will go to heaven or hell.
ReplyDelete2. Sinners can never partake in reigning with Christ. Their portion is hell. What you should try to know is who is a sinner?
A sinner is one who has/ did not aaccept the blessedness, what God did for him in Christ Jesus.
A believer who falls into sin is not a sinner again, God has bought him out of the market of sin that is redemption and he has accepted the gospel that makes him saved. Even Paul still call them saints, brethren, those who he wrote letters to correct one or more wrong action they were performing.
Can a believer fall into sin and not walk as a believer? yes, some said they backslided. No, they are just hypocrites, they have not fully come to understand how to walk in that newness of life they have received.
Thank you so much sir
