You And Your Spiritual Leaders

1 Thessalonians 5: 12-13  Leadership is based on personal experience with God not by size. Evaluating your spiritual leader by size or posture is not scriptural. Spiritual Leaders are to be esteemed in love, in reference to their work not posture or eloquent

When you put your faith consistently on the finished work of Christ you will begin to bear fruit of submission. The Life of God will produce good fruits in you.

Hebrews 13: 7  "Leaders pass leaders" is a popular saying but the scriptures says anyone who has spoken the word of God to you should be remembered.

Elisha and the sons of prophets as case study:

2kings 2: 15 -18  The sons of the prophets beared witness of  the mantle of Elijah on Elisha but when we read further to verse 16 we see that they find it difficult to accept him.

Verse 17 says "they urged him till he was ashamed" Even after instructing them not to go......That's not submission. Partial submission is no submission.

Hebrews 13: 17 Partial obedience is no obedience.  Likewise, partial submission is no submission. Our submission to our spiritual leaders should not be partial.

2kings 2: 17b..... "they sought 3 days and found him not"..... what a wasted effort! and a good one for disobedience. They could have saved themselves that rigor but partial obedience caused them pain and they had nothing to show for the stress.

Hebrews 13: 17  It is a dangerous thing to bring grief to your spiritual leader. Miriam and Aaron are good example of the consequence of grieving one's spiritual leader.

If your spiritual leader should give account on you.... what will it be?  Will it be to Joy or to grief?

- Causing your spiritual leaders grief is of no profit to you.

- Receive counsel from them

- Honour them

- Submit totally to them

- Let what they have taught about Christ be made manifest in you

- Give them testimonies of your growth through their messages

- intercede for them for they labour over you also

- Bless them with gifts

Never give your spiritual leaders reasons to grieve over you.
