It is important to know that we must have a personal time for retreat at the end of the year. You are not a serious Christian if you allow this time to pass by without dedicating at least 1-3 days to spend time with God.

 DEFINITION OF A RETREAT

A retreat is a time alone with God. We have different kind of retreats : Family retreat, cooperate retreat and so on. But there is need for a personal retreat with God, you alone with God.

 Things to do during retreat


 Personal Thanksgiving
 It is a time to appreciate God for all He has done.

  Appraisal
 You appraise the year in light of Scriptures. It is also a time to appraise your life and check if truly you have lived the past year well enough.
Most people do not go forward in life because they do not look back to ask questions about how well they have lived the past year.
Nothing should hinder you from having a profitable retreat.
Allow yourself to spend time with God, lock yourself up and flog it out with destiny.

 Six Areas you must review during retreat

Spiritual growth and progress
Check whether you have sincerely grown spiritually.

 Mental transformation
unashamedly weigh and cross-check your mental maturity

 Health
You will die the death of a fool if you do not pay attention to your health. Check your eating and fasting time, write them down not to condemn yourself but rather to rise to a new level.
Your retreat is not a true retreat if it is not completely honest between you and God. You must be 100% sincere.

Financial progress
 Sit down and look at your finances, Check your decisions, your companions during the year, write down the business decision you made without thinking about it and later turned to be a failure.... Write down Everything in view to correct yourself and learn from your past mistakes. 
Don't listen to people who says making financial progress is not important. Financial Liberty helps us to serve God in peace.

Purpose and Destiny
Life is separated into four(4) major seasons : Morning stage(0 - 25) , Afternoon stage(26 - 50), Evening stage(51 - 75), and Night stage( Anything after 75). Many people fail to do what they are suppose to do in their morning stage, imagine someone just getting born again at the age of 40, it is okay to get born again at any age but before he starts to learn and unlearn some wrong cultures and doctrines he has adopted in the past... It will really take Time.

Some have not even find what they want to spend their life doing as far as the kingdom is concerned. It is not necessarily how long we live that matters, even though longitivity is a blessing but Efficiency is far greater than longitivity. 

Jesus spent 33yrs and within that 33yrs he made a mark. He spent 30yrs preparing for his assignment and within 3yrs he was completely done. 3yrs of effective living. "I must work the work of Jesus that send me while it is day....." No matter how much good of a footballer you are, once you are 50yrs you are retired by force. There is timing to Destiny, Stay and contend for the grace for Speed.

Relationship
We rise and thrive on the quality of the kind of relationship we have. " He that walk with the wise shall be wise but the companies of fools shall be destroyed"

Also, In retreat you plan for the year coming. "He who fail to plan, plan to fail". Set goals for your life and follow them. You do not necessarily have to achieve all but make sure you work towards achieving all. Don't just stumble into the day living your life carelessly without accountability. 
Reach out to people, be a blessing to people. Givers will never truly lack.

Now, the result of the retreat will be that you make determinations to do more for God, You put a systemic dimension around your life that ensures continuity and predictability.
