Hearing God's voice, discerning the thought of your heart

The Voice of God, Discernment of thought

Permit me to say Man has only two thoughts

1. Either good or evil 

2. Positive or negative

Now another thing is

Every Good thought is sponsored by the spirit of God and every evil thought is sponsored by the devil. 

Also a good thought can either be positive or negative, also an evil thought can also be positive or negative. So, next time when you have a negative thought it doesn't mean it's the devil, and when it's positive it doesn't mean it's God.

For example: you came back from school very hungry you went to the kitchen and you met a delicious meal just prepared by your mum, you're about serving yourself when a thought dropped in your heart or mind not to eat it. Obviously that's a negative thought for a posive hunger 😅, in this case it's not easy to discern if that thought is good or bad.

Pause and think over that, wat would you have done? Ignore the thought and Eat the food or heed to the thought and remain hungry.

Not all positive thought is good or from God and not all thought that seems to look like negative is from the devil.

You have to pay good attention to get this .....

The devil gives ideas that pleases men and doing them  solves our current problem but looking into the agenda of God, that idea is a seed for doom. Only an eternal God can give and idea that will last long. Also God can also drop in your heart thought that you feel they don't make sense but once you ignore them, and follow your own ways, you're in for destruction.

We always say how can I know the voice of God from my thought

Everybody believe they know the voice of the devil which is not true,  the voice you can discern better can be known when we know the things you have paid more attention to

It's very easy for the devil to trap men with thought, anytime the devil wants to know a man's need he begins to suggest different thought, he can bring the thought of pornography, movies, smoking and drinking and you reject them he knows immediately that's not what you need at the moment, he doesn't quit then he suggest money, he knows money is your need immediately you act on that thought, so from there he begins to suggest ways for you to make money which can make you disobey God and leave the presence of God. Even many times it will appear as if you're doing what is Right.

That's  why our desire here is important even in discerning thought

James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one;

James 1:14 but each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.

It's easy to follow the wrong thought if your desires are camped around the wrong things.

So, one of the way to discern the thought sponsored by God is to desire the things of God  and take your desires off the things of the world.

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; 

what Jesus meant by hear here means to hearken, to understand and in response do as instructed, you can only obey the voice you have recognized, God spoke many times in the Bible, Jesus spoke, angels spoke, demons spoke. Which means through the bible you are able to know the kinds of word God will speak or the kinds of words the devil will speak. The devil won't allow you to do anything that will give God Glory but he can allow you do things that will make you take God's glory for yourself. Another point to discerning God's voice is staying with the word of God

Another point is staying in the place of prayer: praying in the holyghost is a direct communication with God, it helps you build intimacy with God, the secret place is where you have intercourse with the spirit of God, vital secrets can be revealed during intercourse because it's a high form of intimacy. Dwelling in God's presence helps you to understand God better

Nobody, taught you as a child to recognize your mum's voice, you just did, it was a product of intimacy. That's how easy recognizing God's voice could be if you always dwell in the presence, always stay sensitive, pray in the holyghost always

Let's take this real good example:  If a friend come  to you and said your mom told her to give you a message, you should be able to know after reading the message if it was truly your mom who sent the message. 🤔 Okay, your mom had travelled and your neighbour came knocking and said your mum dropped a message for you not to pray in the house while she is away.

You will be confused here if your mum is a woman of prayer, because you'll think your mum who likes to pray can't tell you not to pray in the house. 

So which means u know wat your mum can say and wat she will not.

So, how long you have stayed with a person can make you know what the person is capable of doing or saying, also the more you stay with God the more you get better hearing God, that's why some people can hear God better than others.

Discernment is easy when you have knowledge, another  key to know the voice of God is discernment, and they only key that trains discernment is fellowship

 proper knowledge to discern cannot happen without proper fellowship, It is in fellowshipping with ur mum you learn her laws what she likes and what she dosent what she can say and what she cant.

 Discernment is like a manual that makes us know that even if this thing looks appealing it's not the Masters voice. That's why discernment is having the perfect and accurate knowledge something. 

Pray in the holyghost

Study the word

Seek the knowledge of God

Have fellowship with the holyghost

Train your desires

Feed your mind with the word.

God's grace is with you. Amen
